Stranger Guitar

Guess you've been a thousand places,
won't bore you with mine,
it's a life, no stranger than yours,
some rain, some shine.

Hot out there tonight,
I've opened the blinds,
someone really ought to fix
that flickering sign.

Stranger guitar
are you following me around,
no matter what hotel
I put my suitcase down?

Wherever I end up I hear
those same sweet notes climb,
and I know your hollow heart
is beating next to mine.

That big moon's bothering me
like a drunk for a dime,
the lovers in the next room
are crossing the line.

So let me lie down beside you,
pour another glass of wine,
then maybe we can try
just one more time.

Stranger guitar
are you following me around,
no matter what hotel
I put my suitcase down?

Wherever I end up I hear
those same sweet notes climb,
and I know your hollow heart
is beating next to mine.
